Terms of use

What this is

Granteed is a tool for drafting funding proposals against a donor’s own structure, and for tracking an award once it is won — indicators, reports and budget against actual. It is software you use. It is not a consultancy, a grant agent, or a party to anything you sign with a funder.

Your work stays yours

Everything you put in and everything Granteed drafts for you belongs to you. We claim no ownership over your proposals, your budgets or your organisation’s information, and no licence to them beyond what is needed to run the service for you — storing them, showing them to you and the colleagues you have invited, and sending the relevant parts to the model provider when you ask for a draft.

We do not train models on your content. Your content is processed by the model provider named in the privacy policy under their API terms, which you should read alongside these.

What a draft is, and who is answerable for it

Granteed produces drafts. You are responsible for everything you submit under your organisation’s name — every figure, every claim, every commitment about what you will deliver and for how much.

The product is built to make that responsibility possible rather than to take it away from you. Where it cannot evidence a figure it writes a marker instead of a plausible number, and it tells you which gaps are open. That design only works if you finish the job:

• Resolve every marker before you submit. A document still carrying [DATA NEEDED] is not finished, and Granteed will not quietly fill it in for you.
• Check figures that came from a search against the source it cites. Granteed shows you the source and the date so you can; a citation is an invitation to verify, not a substitute for it.
• Read the whole thing before it goes. Language models produce fluent text that can be confidently wrong, and this one is no exception.

We do not promise that a proposal drafted here will be compliant with a particular call, will be scored a particular way, or will be funded. Nobody can promise that, and a tool that implied otherwise would be selling you something it cannot deliver.

What we do not do

• We do not take a percentage of grants you win. A tool paid on your funding would have an interest in you applying more rather than applying well, and you would be right to distrust its drafts.
• We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers, and we run no analytics on you.
• We do not submit anything on your behalf. Nothing leaves for a funder except by your hand.

Accounts and workspaces

Signing in with an address nobody has invited creates a new, empty workspace. It never joins an existing one — workspaces are joined by invitation, never by guessing an address. Keep your email account secure, because access to it is access to Granteed.

Whoever owns a workspace controls who is in it and what they can do. Removing someone ends their access immediately.

Paying for it

Using it reasonably

Do not use Granteed to produce applications you know to be false, to impersonate an organisation you do not represent, to break the law or a funder’s rules, or to attack the service or work around its limits. We can suspend an account doing any of these.

Availability

We will keep it running and we will not pretend it cannot break. The service is provided as it is, without a guarantee of uninterrupted availability. Deadlines are unforgiving, so do not leave a submission to the last hour of the last day on the assumption that any piece of software will be up — export your work as you go. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for funding you did not win, a submission that missed a deadline, or losses that follow from a proposal’s contents. [CONFIRM: liability cap, and the local law that governs how it applies].

Ending it

You can stop whenever you like. Export your proposals and budgets to Word and Excel first — that works at any time and needs nobody’s permission. We can end an account for a serious or repeated breach of the section on using it reasonably, and we will say why.

Governing law

Changes

If these change materially we will tell you by email before the change takes effect, not by editing the date at the top.
